Ferguson Jenkins

  Ferguson "Fergie" Jenkins, who was born and raised in Chatham, Ontario, Canada was a three-time All-Star, winner of the 1971 Cy Young Award and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991 along side former teammate Gaylord Perry. Raised playing Hockey, Basketball and Baseball (as a First Baseman), scouts quickly noticed his athletic ability and turned him into one of the top pitchers of all time.

His 3,192 strikeouts ranked fourth all time when he retired after the 1983 season. He still ranks among the top 12 in baseball history.

In 1971, Jenkins not only stole the headlines by winning the NL Cy Young award, but also became the only picther in MLB History to win 20 games (24), record 20 hits (20) and drive in 20 runs (28). He was also a seven-time 20 game winner, including a stretch of six-straight seasons.
